Waiora translated from Maori means 'Waters of Wellbeing'
This name is inspired by both my respect for traditional cultural values and my connection to nature and especially the shores of this beautiful island/motu I call home.
It is an appropriate expression of how it feels to live in this wonder-filled coastal environment. Since the first waka graced these shores, Aotea/Great Barrier Island has been recognised as a place of healing wellbeing and restoration as our unique environment holds many keys to Mother Nature’s healing secrets.
